Pompeii and Herculaneum can be reached by means of the Circumvesuviana. All visitors interested in the findings of the splendid antiquities of the Roman Empire, should visit these two sites, both half-destroyed and covered by ash as a result of the 79 A.D Vesuvius eruption. Discovered at the beginning of the 18th century, we can admire the fabulous villa’s with their frescoes preserved through time, the amphitheatre and the thermal baths.

Positano, Amalfi and Ravello are situated just a few kilometres from Sorrento and are easily reachable by taking the SITA bus or the Metro del Mare.

Follow the little streets of Positano that descend towards the beach; explore with curiosity the many boutiques and shoe shops selling now world-famous sandals.
Climb the stairs which lead to the Cathedral of Amalfi, meeting point for people of all colours who visit this country; sip on chilled limoncello or savour a “Delizie al Limone”, a sweet cake, both typical Amalfitan products; stroll along the streets of this town pregnant with history and stories.
Continue along the main road and you arrive in Ravello, the other pearl of the Amalfi Coast and celebrated for its annual Music Festival , which for 40 years has taken place in the natural setting of the Villa Rufolo gardens, an enchanted place and fountain of inspiration for many, including Robert Wagner, who was inspired by this scene for the second act of The Parsifal.
Connected to Sorrento by several shipping companies that run daily, and in minutes you can reach Capri celebrated the world over for its cosmopolitan lifestyle which merges with the sense of being familiar and thus embracing you. The warm smile of its people, its characteristic alleyways, its glamorous stores .... it’s just impossible not to stop for a coffee in the piazzetta or to visit the Gardens of Tiberius, to take a boat tour and admire the I Faraglioni close up, or the mythical Blue Grotto.
A visit to the smaller town of Anacapri to see the Roman remains of Villa Damecuta, destroyed by the force of the Vesuvius eruption in 79 A.D., or the beautiful Villa San Michele, once the residence of Dr. Axel Munthe, is a must.
